The Export Imperative

The Export ImperativeRegus

January 2012

Companies operating in international markets are generally reporting better results (revenue, or profit, or both) than those concentrating on their domestic market. The only exception is China, where state-sponsored infrastructure investment and development is providing disproportionate domestic market opportunity for Chinese firms. These findings indicate that foreign expansion is good for business and should be considered by domestically-focused companies. There is a gulf between the attitude of companies already operating internationally – where 80% intend to expand still further – and those solely operating in home markets – where only 42% intend to expand abroad over the next few years .

Why place still matters in the digital age: Third place working in easy reach of homeZZA Responsive User Environments

October 2011

Contemporary technology enables people to work in a wide variety of places apart from traditional offices. People now undertake work activity in a variety of venues such as trains, planes, coffee shops, hotels and at home. Partly because of this, traditional offices tend to be under-occupied, and a view has developed in corporate real estate circles that to improve the efficiency of the corporate workplace, its focus should be as a place of ‘exchange’, which prioritises provision for people to meet, while work that they undertake on a solo or individual basis should occur wherever else they happen to be. This report covers research to examine the assumption that it is equally productive for people to work anywhere. It is based on empirical evidence from a large scale online survey and a suite of systematic face to face interviews on the issues pertaining to where people choose to work, and why they do so.

Regus Business Confidence Index 5

Business Confidence IndexRegus

October 2011

Positive business employment intentions are focusing on flexible working practices, as firms across the world seek to boost growth. Slow global economic progress and market volatility have somewhat curbed the positive surge reported in April by the twice-yearly Regus Business Confidence Index that finds business optimism has undergone a modest contraction. In line with this dampened confidence, businesses’ expectations for the full momentum of recovery have been pushed back to the second half of 2012.

Mother's Day?

Mother's DayRegus

Gennaio 2011
